#1 – Budget Friendly
Virtual Interior Design is perfect for anyone that needs to stick to a budget. Unlike a standard interior design service where you get charged at an hourly rate, you pay one flat fee per room. We will ask what your overall budget is for the project up front. With that said, before heading into your virtual design experience, you should have a rough idea of how much you are willing and able to spend. Our virtual designers will take your budget into account when specifying the finishes, fixtures, and furniture recommended in your design. Having a budget and flat rate design fee means you can rest easy knowing that you won’t encounter any surprises.
#2 – Interior Design on Your Terms
Another great aspect of Virtual Interior Design is how flexible and accommodating it is. You can choose the style of communication that works best for you. Whether that be email, phone call, or a virtual meeting. All aspects of the virtual design process can be done from the comfort of your own home, saving you from having to commute anywhere. Virtual design can also be done on a flexible schedule. It can be difficult to find time to get to a design firm’s office during their hours of operation when you also work a 9-5 job. With virtual design, meetings can be held during lunch hours or after work. In addition, emails can be exchanged any time of day. This process can go as fast or as slow as you need it to!
#3 – Time is Money
Your time is valuable, and we understand that! Instead of spending hours every night for weeks on end scrolling the vast number of sources on the internet for a new coffee table, why not leave that to us? A great perk of being an interior designer for a living is that you quickly become familiar with what is available on the market. Whether that’s via emails and literature from our trade partners, or from scrolling the web looking for the perfect sconce for our client’s bathroom. We are constantly exposed to the latest and greatest furniture, fixtures, finishes, and accessories. And you better believe we file them away, either mentally or physically, for when the perfect project arises that we can use them on.
So instead of scrolling tomorrow night, why not pick up that book you’ve been meaning to get to, take your dog for a walk, spend time with your family, or call a friend to catch up. Let us do the leg work for you!
#4 – Experiment Without Breaking a Sweat
If you’re ready for a change, but don’t know where to start, virtual interior design might be for you. No one wants to spend their whole Saturday pushing around furniture, trying out different layouts, just to hate it at the end of the day. With virtual design, you can explore different layouts without having to lift a finger.
Visualizing how your space is going to come together can be extremely difficult. Curating a cohesive design can also be challenging. We’re all guilty of heading to a store on the weekend and frivolously buying decor that may or may not actually work in our homes. Hiring a virtual designer can alleviate some of these obstacles. They can offer you mood boards, professional floor plans, 3D renderings, expert advice, and more! You can also count on them to specify a list of items that will go together flawlessly.
Having a designer look at your space could also offer a fresh perspective. A new pair of eyes might see something you don’t or might think of something you never have before. Our designers are trained in space planning and can help you work through any situation.
#5 – Collaboration
Feeling overwhelmed when thinking about re-designing your space is completely normal. If someone were to ask you right now what your style was, would you be able to answer them? If not, that is something your virtual designer can help you figure out. We do this through inspiration images, Pinterest boards, our questionnaire, and talking with you during the initial consultation.
Once we get a good feel for you and your project, we’ll present you with a couple of different directions we could take the design in. At this point we’ll need to collaborate until we reach a final design. Consequently, this process is perfect for anyone that is interested in being involved in the design process. Your input is important to the final outcome. It helps if you are up front with us about issues you are having with your current space. You should also let us know if you have issues with any of the design ideas we present you. In the end, it needs to fit with your lifestyle and taste.
Have existing furniture pieces you want to work with? Not into the rug we picked out for you? Don’t want a white couch because you have kids? Or maybe you like certain aspects of both design options and want to meld them together. These are all great things to tell us!
